Absolutely safe for one woman, I can't think of a safer place. You probably will not want to come back, but you can do what I do and immediately start planning your next trip to the island, which seems to help, lol. It can be expensive, but it definitely doesn't have to be. There are tons of smaller condos and beachside motels that are super cute, and everything is an easy walk to the beach because the Island is so narrow. I highly recommend you give it a try!
I very much enjoyed traveling. I liked this line: I bring a first aid kit that would make a school nurse envious. Lol.
